Create your landing page
You are listening to the Success Club Podcast. Hello and welcome to session 180. This week I am talking to you about creating your landing pagethe Success Club Podcast, my name is Kaz Johnson and I am your host today, this is episode 180 and Today I am talking about the steps you need to create your landing page.
Create your landing page
A landing page is a page on your website that you get your visitors to land on. It does not menu at the top, and always has a call to action (CTA). So your visitors only have two things to do, and that is to sign up for your offer or click away.
Here are the steps you need to take to create your landing page:-
Select a landing page template.
There are many templates that you could choose, some will already be free with your email marketing software, or your website designer. If you can’t find one to suit you, you can choose a paid theme from places like Evanto, Thrive Themes or Leadpages. Choose one that best fits your campaign.
Give your landing page a name
Once you have chosen your ideal template, you need to save it and give it a name. This name needs to have the keywords in it so that your reader can find it and it’s also good SEO practice.
Add your unique content.
Now you are ready to add your content that leads the reader to your call to action. Don’t forget to add the pain point first and then add to it the solution you have with your leadmagent in mind.
Include striking images.
You can add your own images that you have taken, or you can add a free stock one, some are free, like those for Pixabay, often your email marketing software has some for free, or some are paid for like Shutterstock. Make sure these images are clear and are in line with what message is that you are wanting to convey.
Choose a relevant domain name
If you are not hosting your landing page on your website, this landing page could be a stand-alone page on a domain, if it is, try and make sure that you can get a .com domain if possible. Make sure that the domain name includes you keywords if possible. Choosing a domain name can take a while, but bear in mind that it must be easy for the reader to remember, so keep it short and memorable, and make sure that you choose just words, no number
You could use a thesaurus or a domain name generator like LeanDomainSearch or Nameboy.
Make sure all your links and CTAs are working.
Now you have your landing page completed, it’s time to check that all your links and CTA’s are working. It is a good idea to get someone else to check it for spelling and grammar errors and that if you can’t get someone else to check it for you, leave it for 24 hours, as sometimes our eye skips over these and a fresh eye will not skip so much.
Complete your meta description and SEO title.
The meta description is a description tag in HTML. It is the 160 character snippet used to summarize a web page’s content and can be used by search engines in search results to let visitors know what a page is about before they click on it. It is important that you have your keyword within the meta description so that you attracting the right target audience.
Now all you have to do is to hit the publish button and you are done!
