Today I am talking about using your email mail list and why it’s really important from day one why you should be creating your email list.
Using your email mail list
I was very sporadic when I first started my online business with my email list, and over the years I have moved from one email list provider to another and I moved my lists accordingly and they really needed tidying up, but I was put off because it was a job that seemed to complicated.
However, with GDPR, I had to face my demons and what I did was to send out a campaign asking people if they still wanted to hear from me, to respond with an action. Well, talk about spring cleaning my list!
It was really good, as although I lost quite a significant amount of subscribers, this gave me the excuse I needed to an to look at my email list building in a new light. For example, my business model had changed significantly since I started and I had no real strategy on how I was using it.
Once the email list got a good to cleanse, I then decided what I wanted the list for, and how I was going to keep in contact with my subscribers.
Number one, I set up a newsletter to go out each time I published a blog, put a promo or a tip on it, and then made sure I published the newsletter to go out each week on a Tuesday with the news, updates, and tips on it. I have my option boxes for this list all over the place, from my email signatures, to my blogs, podcasts and Facebook Groups.
Number two, the second type of lists are ones where people subscribe to an offering, that then sends out a series of autoresponder emails for the particular subject, plus they get added to my newsletter too.
I also am now very focused on building my list as the number one thing I make a priority in my business, as no matter what happens with any of the social media platforms, my blog and email list an assess that I own and that I can have total control over who gets what, plus it enables to me to start building a rapport with my customers too!

I currently have a great open rate considering all the noise out there… so please do use this form of marketing to your advantage.
So, first of all, I want you to think about your own list and ask yourself the following questions…. Number 1, when did you last cleanse your list? Number 2, what strategy do you have in place to capture leads? Number 3, do you send out a regular newsletter? Number 4, what are you offering, what is your ethical bribe?
After you have answered those questions, if you do not have a strategy in place for building your email list, I suggest you put it at the top of your to-do list and make it a priority today, to get building your email list.
