Build your business with ethical bribes
Building your list needs to be a number one priority in your business. You need to have a constant stream of new customers and you also need to build an asset that you own. In this episode I talk you through how to start building your list with an ethical bribe.
Hello and welcome to episode 018 Of the Kaz Johnson show, my name is Kaz Johnson and I am the blogger behind Kazjohnson.com and the Kaz Academy. Today I am talking about building your list with ethical bribe! Heck Kaz I here you say, bribe? So let me start off by explaining what an ethical bribe is….It’s something you give of value, like an ebook, video or something of that nature, in exchange for their contact details.
Now why do you want to do this? It serves as several reasons really, the first one being is that it is important that you are building your list, something that you own, and not something that Facebook or Instagram owns and the other is, you are getting to show yourself as the ‘go to’ person in your industry, and then you can start a relations ship with them by sending to them offers, promotions, tips, tricks and advise.
Start to build your business with an ethical bribe
So, lets look at what you need… First you need to think about what you can offer – I have used, a Toolkit in the form of a downloadable e-book, a challenge, a mini course, a behind the scenes tour, a free webinar…. These are just some of the things I offer, as well as doing a blog with a freebie at the end… Like this one.
Perhaps the most common one, and easiest, is to do a free ebook, now I use Designrr, which creates beautiful ebooks, from templates using things like posts, I will put a link in the show notes for you.
Think about what would be beneficial to your target audience, create a bribe, then set up a system to get them delivered automatically and then the receipt’s details get added to your email provider’s list that you have created. So I will explain the order in which I set this up..
Create a list in your email software – I use Getresponse
Create a landing page to download your ethical bribe – I use Thrive Themes
Link your Call to action sign up box to your email provider and the list you have created
Create a bribe – I use Designrr
Upload it to Amazon S3
Copy that link and put it onto a downloadable landing page, I use a separate templated download page
Create some follow up emails as autoresponders
Set and forget it!
I have done a mini training video to show you how I do this using the software I have mentioned and you can download it by going to kazjohnson.com/session018
So, what can you offer to your customers and potential customers that would be of something of value to them that you can create for them, in exchange for their contact details?
