Hello and welcome to the Success Club Podcast, my name is Kaz Johnson and I am your host today, this is episode 142 and today I am talking about 5 Tips for online blog for business

But over the years I have to fine-tune it and today I am going to give you my 5 tips about online blogging for business.

1. Just start!

They say that ‘done is better than perfect’. How true! So just grab a pen and paper and map out the first 3 blog titles, so planning is a great key, but if you just start writing about anything in your niche that fact that you have started will gather momentum and your words will flow.

Get it to proofread, then post, and then get started with your next post. This often is all you need before you get to the nitty-gritty of your blogs.

2. Stop selling, start serving

Stop selling and start serving your customers. Put yourself in your customer’s shoes, what keeps them up at night? What are the questions you get asked in your community?

How can you get your customers from where they are now, to where they want to be. Just solve a problem for them and you will be seen as the go-to person in your industry. That way you are building a relationship will them, you are getting to be known, liked, and trusted as a good friend.

3. Be consistent

If you want to get found with those robots and spiders and your potential customers then you have to be consistent. Perhaps you blog once a week or once a month, whatever schedule you have set for yourself, then you must be consistent if again you want to build a relationship with your readers.

They will turn up, and if they don’t see you, you will lose them for good! You will not be trusted and seen as reliable, and who wants that? A flakey person?

4. Be authentic

Be yourself, everyone else is taken! This is so true if you want people to like or dislike you, and you don’t want customers who dislike you, let them go! As they say, some will, some won’t, so what?

By being authentic you are going to shine, whether you have some crazy likes or habits, you want people to connect with you with the trades that you have, this makes you a super awesome person!

5. Make it easy to subscribe

This is so overlooked, is you sign up at the top, bottom, sidebar and exit pop? It may sound a lot of places, but when I subscribed to this idea, and make it easy for people to subscribe to my email list, I got so many more people on my list so I could start that all-important relationship with my customers. I send a weekly newsletter out each Tuesday but I needed to have a list in the first place and was not putting my subscribe opt-ins all over my site.
