Hello and welcome to the Success Club Podcast, my name is Kaz Johnson and I am your host today, this is episode 157, and today I am talking about 5 reasons you need a business coach.
Let me take you back to 2003, I was burnt out, going through a divorce, had to sell my business and I was at a very lost place.
I felt I had no one to talk to, no one to help to get me to the next level, wherever that may be. I was lost, confused, and burnt out. I was so overwhelmed I did not know where to start.
I knew I need to change, but I was not sure where to start or how. After searching high and low, I stumbled across a course. Once on that course, I met my first business coach.
We had a chat, made an appointment, and never looked back! When I made a pivot in 2018, I decided that I wanted to help people in this way too! So I made a pivot and became a business coach. I have helped people to get unstuck and get them to where they want to be. And if you think you don’t need one, let me give you 5 Reasons You Need a Business Coach:-
Reason No 1 – Because you are unhappy with where you are.
If you feel that you are stuck, confused, not sure what the next steps are, then this has to be a good reason to get a business coach.
Just like me, I was no longer in a place I wanted to be, I needed help, I needed someone to act as a sounding board, not someone like a family member, who cared about me, but did not know about my business or any business to be fair, but someone who was independent and could see things from a holistic very, who had been there before me, and could see things from a fresh perspective.
Reason No 2 – Because you want to fill in gaps within your knowledge.
We can’t know everything about everything. This is where a good business coach will help you.
They will help you with things like:-
• Planning your business goals
• Planning your business vision
• How to set goals that will drive your business growth
• How to take on members of your team
• Planning your marketing strategy
• How to read and interpret your financial reports
• How to bounce back from failure
• How to find new customers
• How to retain customers
• How to do some strategic planning.
• How to delegate in a way that your team understands
• How to get focused and stay on track
These are just some of the things a good business coach will help you with. They are a good sounding board for your business, and sometimes your personal life, but they will help you with good real life results.
Reason No 3 – Because you need to work on your business.
Working on your business means that you are a leader, not just a manager, someone who leads the way and not just manages it. At first, you may have to do both jobs, but later on, you can take on a manager and other team members that will help you to achieve your goals, but you have to be driven by your vision.
You need time to reflect on what you are doing, where you are going, where you are now and how to take the business to the next level.
Where do you want to be? You need to be someone who has a clear vision and can lead its team members down the path to success.
You need to be able to delegate your work in a way that your team members are enthusiastic about their work and that they want you to succeed in helping you to creat your vision, your goals.
A good business coach will help you with that.
Reason No 4 – Because no man (or woman) is an island.
I you want to go further faster; you have got to realise that you are not an island and that by joining forces with a coach, they can help get you there…. Faster!
A good business coach will help you climb the ladder quicker. It is that simple.
Reason No 5 – Because you want an edge over your competition.
So, want to get an edge over your competition, then getting a business coach can help you to do just that.
They can help you look at your completion and see what they are doing right so that you can do more of this, see what they are doing not so right so that you can avoid this, and to give you a fresh perspective on what you are doing now. They act as a sounding board for new ideas and innovations.
