5 Lead Magnet Ideas with examples
You are listening to the Success Club Podcast. Hello and welcome to session 161.
This week I am talking to you about 5 lead magnet ideas with examples.
Hello and welcome to the Success Club Podcast, my name is Kaz Johnson and I am your host today, this is episode 161, and today I am talking about 5 lead magnet ideas with examples.
So then, what exactly is a lead magnet, and why you should have a least one to help you grow your business.
They do not need to be big, as most people are looking for a quick win, but it needs to attract the right customer for your business and it needs to be able to solve a problem that your customer has.
You may already have a lead magnet, or you might just be starting out in business, and so today, I am going to be giving you 5 ideas, with examples, of lead magnets that could help you grow your business.
1 – Guide or report
This is perhaps the most common form of lead magnet. It is easy to consume, so it is a quick win. It is easy to make and gives the customer the answer to their problem so that you have the ideal customer on your marketing list.
I use Desingrr for creating my ebooks or cheat sheets, they are easy to use and can transform your blog posts for a lead magnet too, you just past your post’s URL into their software, and it creates beautiful looking books, cheat sheets, reports, Blog posts, Podcasts, Videos and PDFs into eBooks, Show Notes, Dynamic Flipbooks, Transcripts, PDFs and Web pages.
2 – Cheatsheet/handout
This has to be among the most common types of Lead Magnets.
Just create a document with an easy ‘to do’ list of things your customer needs to do.
They could be a list or a mind map, that has been created in Word or Notes even, and saved as a PDF, and sent to them via email or a download in Amazon S3.
Here is an example of a checklist for productive meetings.
3 – Tool/resource kit
A tool or resource kit is a great lead magnet if you are an affiliate marketer or as a starter kit for your business.
Trello gives their prospects templates to get started in exchange for their contact information…
A starter kit not only attracts the right customer to its list, but it helps a customer get started onboard Trello with templates that help people manage their remote teams.
4 – Video Training
You don’t have to spend a whole lot of time creating a video for your lead magnet, but if you have the right skill set, a video can be a very effective way to deliver on your Lead Magnet.
Over at, Marketo they are using a video tool demo as a Lead Magnet to entice people to try out their tool. Go and check them out for a video lead magnet idea.
5 – Software download/Free trial
Another great offer from Trello is a free trial.
A free trial not only helps to get a customer on your list for building a relationship with the customer, but the customer can see if you are a good fit with them and to see if what you have to offer is the right offer for them.
Fancy taking part in this list building challenge? It’s a great way to grow your own email list!
That’s it for this week, thank you for joining me whilst I talk about 5 lead magnet ideas with examples
