This week I am talking to you about 5 Ideas to increase your online course sales

No 1, Promote your course on your blog

Your blog is your platform, it belongs to you and no one can control it, this is the place where you send people to from social media, and paid advertising, so it is super important that you do not build your business on rented land such as Facebook.

You can write a mega post to show off your expertise in your subject and pop in links to your course.  You can also create a worksheet or mini-course, or even offer a free lesson from your course that people have to subscribe to, in order for them to get access to this premium content.

If you do not yet have a blog, have a course on how to set up a blog on the Kaz Academy, just head on over to for this.

No 2, Start a podcast

One of the best reasons to start a podcast is that you build a personal connection with your audience.  Along with the video, you build a connection with the listener which helps with the trust that you need to start that, know, like and trust relationship as there is nothing more personal than having your voice inside someone’s ears.

Another great reason to start a podcast is that It allows you to produce long-form content that converts.  Research has shown that long-form content increases traffic and back-links to your website.

Starting a podcast is easier than you think, you just need a good microphone, I use the Audio Technica microphone , somewhere to host your podcast, I use Libsyn as it is your one-stop solution for everything you need to start podcasting, get your podcast in Apple Podcasts and iTunes, and even turn your show into an App.  Another podcast to consider is Podbean, Podbean provides free and premium hosting packages, and finally there is SoundcloudSoundCloud is also an online audio distribution platform which has a free and premium hosting package too.

The other tool you will need is recording software, you can use free tools such as Audacity,  a free and open-source digital audio editor and recording application software, available for Windows, or Mac, Garageband if you have a Mac, or as I use, Adobe’s Audition.

If you want to learn more about podcasting, I have a masterclass in the Kaz Academy, where I teach you how to set up your own podcast from start to finish.

No 3, Build an email list

I have already spoken about the importance of building a list in session 35, and the tools I use to create an email marketing list in session 61.

It is absolutely crucial if you are serious about increasing sales, then your priority has to be, building an email list, then engage with your customers by regular emailing them. You do not need to send a sales letter each time, but take a leaf out of Gary Vaynerchuk’s book, Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook.  In short, a right hook’s content aims to sell and self-promote and a jab’s content aims to engage and trigger an emotional response. So, you need to engage and trigger an emotionless response three times more than you do than selling.

You can do this by sending them to your recently published blog or podcast or video on Youtube.

Which brings me to the next idea…

No 4, Start a YouTube channel

YouTube is a search engine, and after Google, it is the world’s most visited search engine, so you seriously need to think about starting a YouTube channel if you want to increase your online course sales.

You do not necessarily need to create new content, but you can repurpose your podcast’s audio, then upload the video to YouTube and put them in a separate playlist.  These videos can be shared on social media channels.

Which leads nicely onto…

No 5, Publish a course promotion video on YouTube

As part of your courses promotion, you could create a three-part video course and put the first video on Youtube with links back to your blog to get video’s 2 and 3.

There you go, these are just some Ideas to increase your online course sales. Make a note of them to try out this week by putting them into your weekly planner.
